Marc Bachrach facilitates the separation of emotion from financial decision making.
He serves as Principal for Sensible Separations LLC located in Bellevue, Washington.
He began his career at the age of 13 earning $3.25hr scoring little league baseball games. Most of those earnings ended up at the snack bar. He first walked on the floor of the New York Stock exchange at the age of 15 after studying personal finance. A topic that would become one for life long learning and result in amongst other things, less trips to the snack bar.
After studying human behavior at Emory University, he embarked on a decade long career in technology. The highpoint of this phase of his career was managing multi-million-dollar ticketing, gate and boarding technology renovations internationally for Delta Airlines. In addition to program and technical management, Marc also used his training in human behavior to help facilitate legacy employees to grow in comfort and skill with the new technology.
A change in coasts, growth of a family and a return to graduate school provided an opportunity for career progression. Taking on the mantle of “the guy who moved to Seattle to get out of the technology field” Marc launched a private therapeutic practice in Amazon and Microsoft’s backyard assisting technology professionals navigate the complex challenges of personal and professional relationships. Marc served as an executive board member of the Washington Association of Marriage and Family Therapists and was named a Top Therapist in the U.S. by Women’s Day Magazine.
Marc is a passionate student (some might say “annoying overachiever”) with two BAs from Emory University, an MA from Antioch University in Seattle, a Certification in Project Management from the Project Management Leadership Group in Atlanta, GA and a Certification in Divorce Financial Analysis from the Institute for Divorce Financial Analysts. The most important part of his education has been traveling to over 20 countries and learning from the courageous and fascinating people he has had the honor to call clients.
He lives in Seattle with his wife, two young children and an ever-increasing amount of snow skis, bicycles and soccer balls.
